We have been updating and adding to the Red Dons website. After the addition of a STORE to the site, a VIDEO page has been added. The new page feature videos from our most recent tour in Brazil. Check out the page periodically because we will changing the featured videos often. To make room for the VIDEO page, we have move the INTERVIEWS to the ABOUT page. The LYRICS page has also been updated. Hopefully it is a little easier to find songs. We will be adding the lyrics from our upcoming 7″ and album soon.
For those of you who have inquired about ordering records directly from the band, we have added a STORE to the website. This store is the only location where you can find the Brazilian Presses of our releases. For those of you who have inquired lately about t-shirts, we hope to have some new designs available next month.
Here is a photo by Sachiko Arakawa from last month’s show with the Triggers at Work/Sound. Thanks to Jonny, Candy, Justyn, & Tarika for asking us to play. The Triggers played an amazing set and a lot of money was raised for Dave Lieberman’s medical expenses. We all enjoyed the chance to play one more time in Portland this year, so thanks again to Derek Willman. Without him it would not have been possible. He did a great job filling in for Hajji on the bass. It was really fun collaborating and we’re excited that we were able to find enough time to record a song together. That song will be featured on an upcoming 7″ that should be out at the end of 2009. For more photos by Sachiko check out her flickr page by clicking HERE.
He’s gone. So sad. Hajji has returned to England for the remained of the year. There will be no more Red Dons shows in 2009. Before he left however, we were able to finish tracking a new LP. Expect it to be released by the end of the year.
In other news…I’m currently piecing together a day by day report from our Brazilian tour last January. It will be featured on Mountza.Blogspot from Greece and translated in a Portuguese for publication in Brazil. I’ll also post small excepts from it on this website later this month. I’ll be sure to announce when each version is released.
Yes, Brazil was amazing!!! A huge thank you goes to Mateus, David, and Gregorio for doing such a great job of putting together an astounding tour. Not only did they book the shows and figure out the logistics, but they had to put up with us gringos every day. We really appreciate their hard work. Another big obrigado needs to go to everyone who came to the shows and all the bands we played with. It was astonishing how many people attended our gigs and how enthusiastic everyone was. Thank you for spending time with us and we hope to see you all again soon.
The first two presses of the Brazilian tour version of Death to Idealism sold out quickly. We have a small number of copies from the third press. The same goes for the Brazilian tour presses of Escaping Amman. The first press is completely sold out, but we still have a very limited amount of the second press which is on color vinyl. There will be an announcement soon about when those will be available. Check out our RELEASES page for details regarding these special tour presses.
Over the next month or so we’ll be adding pictures and video on the website from Brazil. Here is a video from a TV show we shot on the first day. For more videos and pictures check out our myspace page.

Bags are packed we’re ready to go!!! We leave tomorrow morning for tour and here are some updates. First off, the new and improved remixed, remastered version of Death to Idealism won’t be available until June 4th or 5th thanks to an absent minded move by a pressing plant employee of the at the post office last week. We hope to have them by our show in St. Paul, Minnesota. It also appears that our show in Des Moines may have been canceled. If anyone in Lincoln, Omaha, or Des Moines can find us a show on June 4th please contact us asap!
In other news, we are featured in the June issue of Maximum Rocknroll. The interview answers a lot of questions many of you might have about the band. If you are in Portland this week, the Red Dons are also featured in the May 28th issue of the Willamette Week. It is a free magazine so pick up a copy! O.K. now back to tour!!!! Here are the dates. Hope to see you at one of our shows!!!
Life has been chaotic as usual for us. We have been working tirelessly on re-mixing and re-mastering our debut LP Death to Idealism in order to have it available for our first U.S. tour this summer. We are excited by the way the record is sounding as well as the way the tour is shaping up. One of our favorite bands The Estranged will be joining us on the road so please come see our bands if we come to your town. If you do make it to a show, be sure to pick up the Estranged debut album and their two new 7″s. You won’t be disappointed. Lastly, Hajji will be flying back to London at the end of the month so we are trying to fit in as many Red Dons, Revisions, and Chemicals shows as possible before then. Here our the dates for some of our upcoming Portland shows as well as our summer tour dates. Hope to see you at one of these shows!
Be sure to tune in to KPSU 1450AM at 10:00pm on Christmas eve to hear us play live on Sound Judgment. It will be our last performance of what has been an extremely busy year. For those of you unable to catch it, the show will air again on January 7th. If you still can’t catch the show or you don’t live in the Portland area, we will be posting the performance on our website. The radio show features Andy Foote on Guitar and Hajji’s newly fixed bass. Thanks to everyone at Centar Guitar for bringing the rick back to life!
In other news, “Death to Idealism” was voted one of the top 20 albums of 2007 by the Cult Punk website! Check out our Reviews page for more new reviews of our LP and have a good year. We will check back in in 2008.
Our debut LP is available now from Deranged Records. Check out our Reviews page to see what some people have said about the album. We also have two shows next month in Portland. Please check out our Shows page for more info. Lastly, we are planning a U.S. tour in March and April. If you can help with a show please let us know.
